During the dark days of World War II, Winston Churchill is credited with saying, “Never, never, never give up.”
It’s easy to “give up”. Life gets hard and it is easy to be discouraged. In “The Kids’ Pit”, Sarah and Chelsea – as teenagers – felt they had no hope and no one they could trust with their overwhelming problems. Not parents – not even God. Yet God was at work and used dedicated parents and friends to restore the relationships with both God and family.
Sometimes we need to be reassured that life is worth it and that God sees us and hears us.
Romans 8:38-39 (ESV) says: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
That about covers it – no exceptions!
Like Sarah and Chelsea, we need to remember God loves us and nothing is too big for God and NOTHING can separate us from his love. That verse also reminds us that God may want us to be the hands and voice that can help pull the Sarahs and Chelseas of the world back into a relationship with family and God.
“Never give up!”
